Ahhh, I don’t know how I’d function without technology. Speaking of technology, my new purchase: Canon EOS Rebel Xsi. I’m loving it so far (a few pictures can be found on Facebook), but am starting my hunt for better lenses. Will update if anything new develops.

This Saturday, we drove down to Atlantic City and visited The Borgata for a day. I don’t gamble, but usually it’s amusing to just walk around and see other people lose money. However, I must say, my experience at The Borgata was sub-par. It’s good to have a tight security and check people’s IDs, but they must’ve had a stick up their ass.

You get carded to play. You get carded to watch. You get carded again, when the dealer changes.

Granted, I’m a tiny Asian girl, so it’s not much of a surprise that I got harassed for my ID so often. Still. Bugger off, Borgata.

Comment: If you like Iron and Wine at all, I suggest you get this song immediately. I first heard it in the season finale of House. Unsurprisingly, it’s a mellow and slow-paced song. But if you’re in the mood for music like this, it’ll rock your socks off.

Synposis:

Akihabara is a Tokyo district full of mangas, anime, electronics, video games, figurines, etc. It is a place that gathers fanatics of such themes, people who are commonly referred to as otaku. Page, Box, Akira, Taiko, Daruma, and Izumu are six otaku each with his/her own troubles and sought relief through a website called “Yui’s Lifeguard.” When site owner Yui died of a mysterious death, the six who are each experts in their own fields gathered to form “Akihabara@DEEP”, a “trouble shooter” group that vows to protect Akihabara and solve the problems of its inhabitants.

Comments: I was thoroughly amused by this series. To be honest, I only started watching it because Ikuta Toma was in it, but the series turned out thoroughly enjoyable. The first 1-2 episodes start out kind of weird, as it took me awhile to get used to the fast-moving, shaky camera and the oodles of obscure anime references… But once you get settled down with this series, it just gets better and better. The entire cast is great, and each character’s personality shines through in all their socially-awkward glory. Highly recommended!
